Boredom

Mind numbing emptiness
Familiarity overcomes me
All is as it always is
Nothing is new

Vainly I search for excitement
I will settle for mild interest
Nothing sparks my mind

Anger would be a release
Pain would give my day meaning
Sorrow would release the numbness
Nothing is new

The colors of the world shine brightly
I look without seeing
My mind is still

Pleasures do not please
Boredom has me trapped
Sleep will bring release
Nothing is new.
