Doing a non profit job can help change your lifestyle and your outlook on life.
Volunteering to help and assist others is in itself a worthwhile reason to do non profit work. It is immensely rewarding from a spiritual side and has a genuine feel good' aspect. If you are thinking about doing a non profit job consider some of the positive aspects listed below.

Meeting new friends and acquaintances:

A non profit job gives you regular contact with other people. These people may be others working in the organization or the people that seek help and assistance.
Helping in a non profit job will give you the opportunity to meet and connect with people you would not normally meet. This will certainly expand your circle of contacts and develop long lasting associations and relationships.
Making new friends and forming new connections is always rewarding.

Knowledge sharing:
Sharing your skills and your abilities is very gratifying. Being able to communicate and pass on your skills improves your interaction with others and broadens your outlook on life. Remember that education is life long and you may even gain new knowledge and skills from others.
You may learn a better way of doing a task, a new tool that is available that you had no knowledge of, shortcuts that are easy to apply or information that is now readily available.
This may even give you a new spark of enthusiasm to your skills and a new appreciation to something that had become too familiar and mundane.

Opportunity to be yourself:
Because you do not have the pressure and stress of a paid job, you have the opportunity of being yourself. This will certainly build your confidence and faith in you and your abilities.
Gaining confidence in being you is extremely empowering leaving no room for self doubt and anxiety.

Active mind and active body:
When you have a purpose to your day you become better organized with your time and resources. Looking forward to your non profit job with its many rewards will keep you active in mind and body, creating a healthier you.

When you add it all up: helping others, meeting new people, making new friends and contacts, sharing and learning skills, and just being you: will no doubt change your lifestyle in a positive and gratifying way.
You can be happy in the thought that the benefits go both ways. You reap the rewards as much as other will benefit from your commitment and enthusiasm.
