Tae Bo is a fantastic exercise option.
If you are doing cardio then you are probably doing it to lose weight. To lose the most fat you need to do cardio for at least half an hour to burn up most of the glycogen in your muscles. At this point your body starts using a high percentage of fat for energy. And the fat loss starts!
So why is Tae Bo so great? Because it makes the hour or so of cardio entertaining and pass quickly. By following Billy Blanks instructions you stay motivated, entertained, and the varied routine makes the time fly. In addition you get some light exercise across a wide range of muscles. I doubt you will ever get muscular like Billy Blanks, but it will help keep you toned and fit.
Finally, the varied routines avoids one of the major pitfalls of other cardio exercises. Repetitive stress injury. For example, runners often wear out their knees from the jarring impact of running.
Tae Bo is also relatively cheap and you definitely get your money's worth. Speaking as a full grown heterosexual man, I do not care if I look ridiculous doing Tae Bo. I have a six pack, the programs work great, and if something works great, then eventually it will be popular in all fields. Quality sells.
