Getting an education can be a fun journey. The more knowledge one can acquire prepares him for a much brighter future and prepares him for success in life. However, in order to receive a good education, it is important to have the best teachers. The educator plays a huge role in whether or not a student may soar above or fall behind other students. For one to have all great teachers is unlikely because there are several types of teachers.
One type of teacher is one who doesn't enjoy his job and makes it obvious through his technique and routine. He may never do any actual teaching; rather, he may distribute photocopies of magazine articles and instruct the students to handwrite the articles into their notebooks. the grade for the class would be based on whether or not the student copied all the articles or not.
Another type of teacher is one who has the job only to receive a paycheck; it is obvious that he doesn't enjoy the art of teaching. He may give some homework assignments and a test from time to time, but if a student asks any questions, it appears to be bothersome to the teacher. There isn't any excitement or enthusiasm in the teacher's voice; it's completely monotone. This makes learning very difficult because it can be very boring.
The third kind of teacher is one who obviously loves what he does. He is energetic about his job. This type of teacher cares about the students and understands students are different individuals with different lifestyles. He understands that sometimes the rules need to be bent to accommodate for special needs. He also has a routine that is easy for students to get accustomed to, which makes it easier for the students to follow the program and to learn. he is a teacher who is laid back and relaxed, not uptight and inflexible, and, most importantly, he is very knowledgeable on the subject which he teaches and is passionate about it.
Teachers are a special breed of people and usually do not receive the recognition they deserve. Anyone who is willing to devote his life to educating others is a great person. However, if a teacher does not thoroughly enjoy teaching, then he should make a decision to choose another career. If all teachers were the motivated, fun and caring type, then going to school would always be easy and fun, at least from the junior college level forward.
