LUCIE'S LIAR
"I'll call you back when I can talk."
He sets the cell phone down.
Our promises again he'll mock,
As in his lies I'll drown.
His calendar is sacred ground;
His attache is sealed.
His defenses are tightly wound;
My husband plays the field.
He lies with what he does not say,
His secrets are his power
Deception is the game he'll play
With infinite willpower.
He lies to me and lays with her
And lies again to cover.
Deceit, it is his mistress;
His ever-faithful lover.
