"When you squeeze an orange, what do you get?"
With this question Dr. Wayne W. Dyer begins a lecture that will rivet his audience, and change some of its member's lives.
Dyer got his start with his book "Pulling Your Own Strings." He wrote it nearly thirty years ago, when he was an unknown writer, on whom no publisher was willing to gamble.
You may find it hard to believe now, but Dyer couldn't sell "Pulling Your Own Strings" to a traditional publishing house. He wasn't a bit discouraged. He published it himself, and began to travel the country promoting it.
He would tell the other guests on the talk shows on which he appeared while promoting "Pulling Your Own Strings" that he intended to be hugely successful. He hadn't the least doubt about it.
Dyer worked hard promoting his book, traveling the country and speaking wherever he could. He was an engaging speaker, with an compelling message: people were responsible for their own success, and what was more, they were born with everything they needed to achieve it. They had all the tools, they just had to use them.
Dyer proved, by his own success, that the message he delivered so passionately was correct. You can determine your destiny. He is now a fixture on Public Television, where is books and DVDs are sold to thousands of viewers eager to gain control of, and improve their lives.
And the answer to Dyer's question about what you get when you squeeze an orange?
Simple. Orange juice.
When someone gets angry, Dyer goes on to explain - when they've been squeezed - and releases a stream of venom, well that's just what they're full of, in the same way the orange is full of juice. When you squeeze something, whatever is inside it is what comes out.
