Poetry: Birthdays

Mom and Dad made a wish
For a little baby to hug and kiss
Time passed and one day mommy cried
"Our wish came true, there's a baby inside!"

Within a couple of months, mommy's belly grew
The whole family was so excited to meet you!
On November 2nd, a beautiful day when you were born
Everyone was so excited to see you after waiting for so long!
At 5:40 in the morning, hearing your cry was like music.

We all broke down crying, especially Mimi
(We really thought she was going to lose it!)

You are the most beautiful little girl we'd ever seen
With a button nose and eyes that gleam
The moment we saw you, we all fell in love
A beautiful little girl, sent from heaven above!

We would all hold you and kiss your cheeks, wrap you in blankets and watch you sleep.
We'd make funny faces to hear you cooand laugh at all the silly little things you would do
Two years have passed and my how you've grown! You walk, run, and play on your own!
You ate cake on your first birthday, sat with Santa, the Easter Bunny and Elmo too
In the summer you swam and played in Mimi and Poppy's swimming pool
You dressed up for Halloween and you also danced ballet like a beauty queen!
You walked mommy down the aisle on Auntie Amy's wedding day, and then you danced and laughed the night away!

You spent lots of time with your Mom and Dad and grandparents too
There are so many people who love to be with you!
We love to hear you laugh and watch you dance, we even love to giggle when you have no underpants!

You are the sunshine that brightens our day-your family will always be here for you and love you little Miss Audrey Jay!

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY!
