Kimps. This game... it's impossible to elaborate on how much a blast this card game is.
For those of you who don't know what Kimps is, let me explain. (I didn't know about it until the other day).
-
Number of Players- At least four, there always has to be an even number of players. (4, 6, 8...)
Objective- You have to pair up with a partner for this. The goal is to get four cards in your hand of the same number (Four 3's for example.) This is called a 'Kimps'. Then you have to signal to your partner (who should be sitting across from you), without using words, that you have a Kimps. If you get their attention and understand they will yell, or say, "Kimps!" and you lay your cards out. Usually you and your partner have already decided on a signal to use before the game starts. Like you might wink if you get Kimps to alert your partner.
Process/Rules- The dealer deals four cards to every player. Then he/she will look at the bottom card on the deck and name it. This is the 'dead' card. Meaning it can't be used and if you have that card you discard it and get a new one. After all cards are dealt the dealer will place four cards face up in the center of the table. When all are set out the players will scramble (nicely... maybe) to get the card they want. For every card they pick up they must discard a card from their hand. Each player can only have FOUR cards in their hand at once. Usually the cards you scramble for are ones you need to make a Kimps or ones you know someone else needs so they can't them to win.
Once everyone is done scrambling for the cards the dealer with remove the four cards that remain and discard them, setting out four new cards and this continues on until someone gets Kimps and their partner yells it out for them. If you have Kimps you cannot yell it out, your partner has to yell it for you. If someone gets Kimps the cards are reshuffled into the deck and that round ends and another begins, playing out the same way.
Note- If someone thinks you are signaling to your partner they can yell "Counter Kimps" and get a point if you WERE signaling. If you weren't then they lose a point. Points are obtained by making a Kimps and having your partner yell it out.

This game is the most eventful, crazy card game ever when you cram ten teenagers onto a tiny round table in school and play. It's good for all ages and promotes team work, sort of, and socializing. I had the most fun playing this with my peers in school and really got to know a lot of them as we played and conversed and scrambled for cards to make Kimps. Try this game yourself, you won't regret it and it's hours of fun!
