Aromas gently rising from sweet scented candles
as she lays by my side breathing measured
I watch her breast rise and fall, rise and fall
and ponder our life, our future together
I am Adam, she is my Eve, we are alone in the world
the satin sheets silky smooth on our bodies
sweat glistening on her brow, she is my love
our lives joined forever, timeless and eternal
Her fever breaks, her breathing comes easy
I wipe her brow, and watch her chest rise and fall
and ponder life renewed, as two become one
and she slips into sleep nestled in my arms.
