Pros and Cons of child labor

Except for consumer cost, there are, in my opinion, no real "pros" to child labor. As I read the title it dawned on me that I am getting these great deals on clothing sometimes because a child has helped to create them. This is sad and not right. It may be that I'm not getting such a great deal and child labor is still being used. I don't think society as a whole really takes a good look as to how we are actually receiving our resources.

My deepest belief is that no child under the age of fifteen should be working. I know that rules vary in different parts of the world but I still cannot agree to most of them. Your childhood comes only once. In some societies and cultures, a child becomes an adult at the age of twelve or thirteen years old. While this is still not acceptable to me personally, I would be willing to yield somewhat to existing culture in this regard. But to see a child under that age toiling eight or more hours a day is unconscionable to me. I can't fathom it. We need to have a world where children are allowed to be children for just a little while at least.
