Every newlywed couple deserves a honeymoon getaway. There are so many fabulous places that choosing one sometimes comes down to what the couple can afford and how much time they have for getting away. Everyone would love to go to Europe or Bermuda, but for many, those are out of the questions. So, how about trying some great places closer to home?

One place that I highly recommend for any romantic getaway is Niagara Falls, Canada. The great thing about this location is once there, you can spend as much or as little as you want to and still have a great time. There is a wide range of hotel accommodations for any budget. Of course, the falls are free to visit and viewing them at night when they are illuminated will make you both fall even more deeply in love. During the summer, there are even fireworks to see. No matter what you decide to do while in Niagara Falls, you will have a relaxing and romantic getaway.

The Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania have to top the list for romantic places to visit. You will feel like you have entered a whole different world when you arrive to this area. There are hotels with tubs shaped like wine glasses and hearts. For the nature buff, you will not be at a loss for hiking trails or water entertainment. If you enjoy quaint,country-like shopping, don't miss the many shops of the area especially the candle making facilities. You will be able to relax as much as you want and when you are ready to be active, this area is sure to please.

My final newlywed getaway suggestion would be Natural Bridge, Virginia. This is where I spent my honeymoon and I have never regretted it. We stayed in a lovely cabin with a view of the rolling green hills of Virginia. As with the other places, there are many accommodation options. There is a great deal of history within driving distance of Natural Bridge, including Monticello, the actual Natural Bridge, and many caverns. I have never been so impressed with a location as I was with this area. It is definitely a great place for people in love.

Don't despair if you can't afford one of the bigger honeymoon trips that you hear about because there are so many great places that are more affordable. No matter what you decide to do, the important thing is that you are doing it together.
