As a couple of newlyweds who just spent all their hard earned money on a wedding, I needed to plan a honeymoon that would not throw us into debt for the rest of our lives together. That's when it came to me, the Honeymoon Capitol of the World, Niagara Falls.

At first, I thought it would be too expensive. So the first thing I looked for was a hotel we could afford. Of course I was right in thinking all the hotels would be too high for our budget. Then, a light went off in my head, and I began looking at Bed & Breakfasts. Wow, these were much more in our price range, plus they provided amenities that you have to pay extra for in a hotel, such as a full breakfast, jacuzzi tub, or a fireplace. We found a beautiful one a few blocks away from the falls, which meant we saved even more by not having to drive around and pay for parking.

Another thing we did not realize when we got there is how much further our American dollar would go. We spent a lot of times eating off value menus for lunch and found that a 99 cent burger in Canada was even less when paying in American.

Overall, if anyone is looking for an affordable destination with an international flair, then look no further than Niagara Falls. It is a beautiful destination that you will think back upon for years.
