Deciding whether Pete Rose should be in the hall of fame

This is not a debate on whether or not Pete Rose's numbers are good enough for the hall but are they good enough to overlook his gambling and the years of publicly mismanaging the situation. Had Pete Rose apologized in the very beginning and then never mentioned it again he would probably be enshrined in the hall of fame by now.
I personally feel he has served his punishment and should be allowed into Cooperstown and his accomplishments should be celebrated by baseball but he should not be allowed to work in the sport again. This may seem a bit contradictory but it is time for Pete and baseball to move forward.
For all of those who take the stance that he broke the golden rule of baseball and he should never get in you are justified in your position. My only response is lets remember Pete Rose the baseball player and teach the next generation of baseball fans about how great "Charlie Hustle" was.
