What toys are essential for early education?

Toys that encourage creativity and involve lots of thinking are essential for early education. There are many toys on the market, but I think that the best ones are often toys that have been around for a long time. These toys include lego, jigsaw puzzles, and play dough.

Lego is a very popular toy which was invented in Denmark. In fact, the word lego was created from a contraction of the two Danish words 'leg godt' which mean 'play well. Lego is a great toy because it has endless possibilities. Children can let their imaginations roam wild and create many different objects. For those who really love lego, I recommend a visit to Legoland in Billund, Denmark.

Jigsaw puzzles are great toys because they often take a long time to put together and provide such a feeling of satisfaction when they are completed. They improve children's concepts of spatial relations and teach patience and perseverence. Even once a jigsaw has been completed, taking it apart and trying to do it more quickly the next time around can be great fun.

Play dough is similar to lego in the sence that it has endless possiblities. Children can do so much with it. They can make animals, food, tools, furniture, or whatever their little hearts desire. Though it's a very simple toy, it can provide so much enjoyment.

While there are many toys on the market, the ones which have been around for a very long time such as lego, jigsaw puzzles and play dough are ones which I consider essential for early education.
