Firstly, always do a color test before coloring your hair any color if it is permanent. If your hair turns orange when you want it to go blonde, then there is many reasons why this has happened.
Always take a box of hair color from the back of the shelf, colors on the front of the display may have been there for a while, and if they are in direct sunlight, they loose there strength.
It could also be that you have not checked your hair color properly and taken the color off too early. Although they may say the developing time is say 30 minutes, some people's hair takes longer, so always check regularly and leave a slight bit longer if necessary. Everyones hair is different and some is more porous (take's the color quicker) than other's.
Right back to the orange hair, you have a few alternatives. Rather than recoloring your whole hair, highlight it, this will tone down the orange and believe me the orange color will tone in brilliantly with the blonde. I am blonde and I have had orange low-lights put in my hair and it makes a lovely subtle color.
Secondly, you could go darker again, if this is the case, go for a shade darker, like an ash color, then put a semi permanent darker color on after. Invest in a hot wax treatment between coloring to protect your hair from further damage.
You could purchase a total pre-lightner, and bleach it again, then buy a toner to bring it back from the whitish color to a more natural look.
If all else fails though go to the Hairdressers, they will tone it down to a darker color for you or advise you on how to get blonder.
