The Internet's effect on campaigning and elections

As the Internet embeds itself in our lives and minds, no one can dispute that is effects our perception.

New travels at the blink of an eye. We are no longer reliant on radio speeches and occasional television appearances from candidates; but seemingly bombarded with images of candidates handing out food at a soup kitchen, shaking hands with a soldier or elderly person.

Candidates are better able to target their potential voters and get their message out. It is easier than ever to find out where candidates stand on various issues. They all have web pages now where you can read or watch what they have to say.

And of course we are privy to some not so great moments, too, thanks to you-tube. These days if there is a social or fashion faux pas you can bet there's a camera around somewhere.

We get to see everything. What a glorious time to be alive!
