Soldiers
I have always admired,
that crisp uniform,
worn proudly and true,
with or without adorn
I know it is within that uniform,
a warrior does survive,
fighting for my country,
to keep it alive
If young their eyes are older,
full of wisdom sometimes pain,
and memories of friends and foe,
that they wear like a stain
I often wonder what it is,
that can make someone so brave,
and then I think of our great flag,
and the colors that still wave.
