To breathe to live, to live to breathe,
I fill my lungs pleasantly, with the morning air.
The smell of freshly cut grass fills my nose,
feelings and memories and people that are gone,
Tears roll down my face, to cry, to grieve.
I catch my breath and hold it to pause,
another memory of you, your touch, your smile.
I am breathing and you are not,
My friend, my partner, for a short while.
The memory of you, your dress and your style.
If you were here and I were there,
Would you breathe for me and I for you?
I breathe for you now, my lungs are full,
I feel you with me, your touch, your smile.
Maybe you are here and I am there, together, we breathe, our hearts as one, for a while.
