Sailing
I sailed along in life on currents calm
Just drifted though dreams and love
The tide gently deposited me
In the safe harbour of your arms
And the sun shone down on me
Little did I know of trouble brewing
Storm clouds gathered along the horizon.
Sailing in my small boat in life currents
Drenched by wave after wave
Plucked from you arms
Pounded by roaring surf
Until I was beached on rocky shores.
My small craft was damaged
The keel ripped asunder
My rudder was shot to pieces.
I gathered together the pieces of my boat
Slowly rebuilding day by day
Until that fateful day when I would sail again.
Would I sink, would I float?
But now I know my boat is not so pretty
But is rugged and strong
I sail over life towards distant goals
Seeking balm for my heart
And food for my soul.
Sailing to the safe harbour of your arms.

where he wants to when he wishes.
