Poetry: Writing

"A Writer's Week"
Day 1:
The pencil is just as easy to wield as the log I sit upon.
It crushes, it smashes, it breaks, the word is gone.
Seems I've lost my muse again.

Day 2:
Tapping lightly my fingers on the desk,
My head propped up on my hand arabesque.
Seems I can't remember my idea.

Day 3:
Spinning again in my swirly chair
My mind more focused on a strand of hair.
Seems I've gotten off track.

Day 4:
Hands thrust in pocket catacombs
As I try to think of topics for tomes.
Seems I like motivation.

Day 5:
Drifting away, my mind's drifting away...
Say, now, didn't I have a poem to write today?
Seems I'm absent minded once again.

Day 6:
Now I'm in for a terrible fright:
The thing is due and I've just got one more night!
Seems I'll be turning in late.

Day 7:
Finally, in the crunched fold of time,
I came with the right meter, verse, and rhyme.
Seems I've pulled it off somehow.

For Those Who Wait In Silence

    Writing, for now, is my lover abroad;
Out of sight, but very much in mind.
    I hold it, caress it,
