SLAVERY
Slaves under a master's command
with no personal control
how could I ever know the horror
when my child from me is sold?
Men who say slaves have no say
have blood running off their hands
slaves' pain and agony
man's wickedness perverts the land.
How could a human ever treat
God's creation as if they are
of no account or importance
as Christ watches from afar?
How could a human ever tear
a baby from Mother's arms?
And live every blessed day
expecting not to meet harm?
God's wrath will repay!
Your wickedness for these
helpless ones, his own creation
suffering in agony.
Slavery, slavery, wicked thing!
How could you treat them so!
As if they are worthless dirt,
not worthy to bathe in crimson flow.
God made them, too,
same as you and me!
Did you ever stop to think
that His eyes would not see?
What price will you pay
for the atrocities of man's laws?
Forgetting that Christ stooped down
to save YOU from Satan's claws!
You, too, were but a worm!
Unholy and unclean
yet, you have forgotten this,
that you used his blood to be redeemed.
Watch how you treat
the lowly and the oppressed
you, too, were a slave of sin
until with mercy, you were blessed.
