How to prevent hair loss in women

Hair loss in women can occur due to various reasons.A hair fall of 50-100 strands a day is considered normal.More hair loss is considered as hair loss in medical terms.40% of women under the age of 40 suffers from severe hair loss.Hair loss can be prevented in most cases.Unfortunately,if hair loss is genetic,nothing much can be done to prevent it.

WAYS TO PREVENT HAIR LOSS:


1.Diet-A balanced diet with adequate nutrition is very essential for proper hair growth.A diet rich in Vitamin B-complex and proteins is very essential.Eggs and cabbage are good sources of Vitamin B.Protein rich sources as lean meat,nuts,milk,soy bean and sprouted beans should be included in daily diet.Supplements cannot be a substitute for a healthy diet.

2.Treat the Dandruff-Dandruff is a major cause of hair fall in women.It can be prevented and treated as well.For tips to prevent dandruff:

3.Treat the Under lying cause-Hair loss can be due to some diseases .Depression,frustration,Polycy stic ovarian diseases,hypothyroidism,hormon al changes for 6 months after delivery,menopause etc.But such problems can be corrected to a great extent by treating the underlying factor after diagnosis.Some topical medication minoxidil(Rogaine and Finasteride)approved by FDA and oral contraceptive pills can help reduce hair loss in women.

4.Supplements:take supplements in correct dosages.Too much vitamin A has been proved to be a contributing factor for hair loss.Silica capsules taken everyday can make hair thicker and stronger.

5.See the Dermatologist:In case of severe hair loss for long time,a dermatologist can be consulted.
