It is a proven fact that over 1/4 men suffer hair loss in their 20s and 1/2 in their 50's. Male pattern baldness is also known as Androgenetic Alopecia. Sometimes hair loss in men can be inherited, be due to an iron deficiency or even a under active thyroid. In most cases though the main culprit of men's hair loss in the Testerone (male sex hormone) this converts into Dihydrotesterone (DHT) when it makes contact with the oil glands in the man's hair follicles. DHT get's into the follicles of the scalp and shrinks them, making a protective membrane. In turn this thickens the scalp and restricts the blood flow to the capillaries, making hair growth impossible. The hair falls out at a natural rate 50-100 hairs per day, but cannot be replaced.
There are many different products that can help this problem and some are found in men's shampoo and styling products so have a look for the following:-
Zinc, Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamins A, C and E, Gingko Biloba.
The above all can help the damage done by DHT. They can revive the hair follicles which remain dormant and they begin to thin the thick membrane which has formed, meaning that the hair follicle re-opens and the hair will begin to grow naturally again.
There are also the other alternatives of Acupuncture Homeopathy and Aromatherapy which can also be very helpful. It may be a good idea if you do begin to experience rapid hair loss to see your Doctor just to rule out whether it could be a related illness causing it first. Good Luck.
