Poetry: Dragons

by Jerica Collins

Created on: April 26, 2007   Last Updated: May 15, 2009

Massive muscle
Eyes like embers
Breath of fire

With each step the earth trembles,
the birds take flight,
and the village screams

Who understands this monster?
This beast?
Does he seek to destroy?
Or protect his home?

His powerful wings
cause whirlwinds in the sky
When the dust settles
will you look him in the eye?
