Light streaming through the branches
leaves crunching below my feet
dew drops resting on the plants
glistening in the sun
A breeze brushes my cheek
and circles me with scents of lilacs
as it warms my face and speaks "come hither"

Birds twitter their cheerful songs
butterflies float softly around the blooms
a pair of squirrels play tag amongst the trees
Taking in a breath of pure air
one can only ponder and question
who could not enjoy such wonder
this amazement of nature
So fresh, so peaceful
sitting on the log
dipping bare feet in the slim stream
There is no such beauty
as great as this
amongst the flowers, the trees, the animals
Never such a miraculous place as the woods I walk in
