Wonderful wildlife encounters while traveling....
When you think of a Moose, do you imagine a little five pound dog winning the encounter?
On one of our camping trip in Northern Utah, we had just parked, opened up the motor home and my husband took the dogs out while I started dinner. A few seconds later Jim, my husband, yelled "COME AND GET THIS DOG".
Imagining that our little Maltese had gotten into harms way, I bolted out the door, and immediately came to a sudden halt. Right in front of me, two VERY large moose were crossing the creek and our little five pound dog was busy protecting our camp sight.
Jim had grabbed his camera and was trying hard to take a picture and Loppy, not only was not afraid, but was being very aggressive to something that could squash him like a bug.
My brave husband was expecting me to run up and grab the dog and avoid the Moose all at the same time. They, however, were very nonchalant wandering up the hill, while Loppy chased, barked and snapped at their heels. Now remember, Moose are not known for their even tempers, but while Loppy chased the Moose, I chased Loppy and my brave husband stayed behind to get "his perfect picture".
Needless to say we all survived and have wonderful memories of our "Great Moose Encounter of Utah".
