There are such a wide variety of denominations, styles of belief, and just plain out of left field forms of Christianity today, it leaves a person wondering what the point is. Humanists seem to view Christians as weak, and disoriented, living for the sole purpose of pushing morality over on others just cause we can. Pagans are irritated cause the Christian community has taken all their holidays. And New Ager's are accepting of every religion except Christianity for a wide variety of reasons. Now there is a movement within the Christian community of people with strong faith, rejecting the stereotypical "role model" of what a Christian is.
Standing in a crowded room with hundreds of people competing to be heard, the ability to carry on a conversation becomes impossible. Organized religion has become much the same, causing many to step outside, wanting to be able to hear God's word, the Bible. It is a movement away from highlighting partial aspects of scripture. Stepping away from doctrine founded on opinions. Stepping away from a religion trying to claim that following Jesus, makes your life all rainbows, unicorns, and warm fuzzies. You can settle into a position of fringe fellowship, or push for inclusion, and invoke accusations of creating division. There is a lot of fear spawned by tomorrows Christian. There is a fear of chaotic Biblical rhetoric not founded in sound theology, somehow contaminating the doctrinal foundations of the body. But what I find most, is the fear of conviction. And that is a fear which poses the biggest challenges.
