Harry Potter: Theories on what will happen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

July 21st, 2007. That is the day of reckoning for the millions of Potterfans all over the world. After six adventure and suspense filled books, four movies and merchandise, the Potter franchise, started by author J.K. Rowling, shows no signs of slowing down. Millions of fans, await the last book, with baited breath.

Harry Potter is a hero, that we can all identify with, and who has caught our imaginations as surely as Hermione Granger can catch a Cornish Pixie. The Potterverse is chock full of magical connotations. Even the release date, is filled with the lucky number seven if examined closely. With all of these magical hints and variations of mythologies over the past six books, as well as the captivating characters, readers are already speculating about what book seven will hold.

The title of the seventh and final book is 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'. Any Potterite, worth their salt, has ideas about what to expect in this last book.
Rowling on several occasions has stated that this will be the final book, and as such, there will be a definite ending. There will be no openings for sequels, or the ability for another writer to take over her creation.

In this final instalment, our intrepid trio, Harry, Ron and Hermione, will search out the various horcruxes created by Lord Voldemort. We'll see more of the founder's histories, like that of Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin and of course, Godric Gryffindor. We'll likely learn that the mysterious initials R.A.B left on the note to Voldemort, belong to none other than Regulas Black, brother to Sirius. The sixth book indicated that Voldemort liked to take trophies from his victims, so it's not unlikely that some of the horcruxes would be items passed down from the founders to their descendants.

With a title like 'Deathly Hallows', one would expect that the history of Harry's parents Lily and James would also be addressed. The Potters died on All Hallow's eve at Godric's Hollow. The series could come full circle with the final battle taking place after graduation, on the following Hallow'een. Harry could well be a descendant of Godric Gryffindor, and potentially the final horcrux, thus housing a shard of Voldemort's soul.

The story may be one of sacrifice, where Harry will choose to die to liberate his friends from the Dark Lord. In sacrificing himself, as his mother did for him the night she died, Harry will bestow on his friends a similar protective magic. Through his sacrifice, he may possibly
