The only real benefit from having a car alarm it to scare off wannabe car thieves or opportunist thieves, and that's it.

A car alarm will not stop your car being stolen by a professional car thieve or a cheeky thief, it is a fact that many people take no notice of them but it is peace of mind, and an extra deterrent.

There was once a test they did on TV on car alarms, they put this car in a busy town center, and one of the people who was in on the test would break into the car, and set the alarm off and a lot of people looked but did nothing.

Don't get me wrong as i have a car alarm but only for peace of mind, and to let people know it has security on it, but one of the best security items to have on your car is an immobilizer system, which most of todays cars have some don't have alarms fitted just engine immobilizer. then again some manufacturers fit immobilizer and alarm.

But the sad fact of todays world is if they want it, they will take it. and they don't care who gets hurt, or even killed.

Because car security has got better and the cars are harder to steal, now they are breaking into peoples property and stealing the keys, or mugging people for there car keys.
