Bikram yoga explained

Bikram Choudhry, who was born in Kolkatta in 1946, founded Bikram Yoga. Bikram Choudhry studied yoga with Bishnu Ghosh, who is the brother of one of one of the most popular and well known names in the yoga circles, Paramahansa Yogananda. Paramahansa Yoganda is the author of The Autobiography of a Yogi, which is one of the highest rated books on yoga, as well as the founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles. Bikram yoga is performed in a room with a temperature of approximately 100 degrees, and consists of a series of 26 poses that are conducted over a 90 minute period.

Bikram designed a sequence of 26 asana yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises that are performed in the room where the temperature is 90-100 degrees. The heat is to helps make the muscles more pliant and allows the body to sweat, which is considered a form of purification. The yoga sessions start from Standing Postures, then the Backbends, Forward Bends, and Twists, and both begins and ends with a breathing exercise or posture.

Bikram yoga has several benefits such as: Working every organ, gland, nerve, tendon, ligament and muscle in the whole body, expands capacity to breathe deeply and fully prevents injury, improve chronic illnesses, great toning effects on the body, improves metabolism and digestion, and many others.

Bikram yoga is a great exercise for just about everyone, and has a tremendous positive effect on your health and fitness. I would recommend yoga to anyone who can physically participate in it, as it is one of the best ways to exercise both physically and spiritually/mentally. These are the basic undisputed facts of Bikram yoga, and while there is a lot more information on this form of yoga it is better to give the exact facts about it and let each person decide on participation for themselves.
