It's a dangerous world out there. Every day we hear stories of child abuse and young motherhood; society seems to be going wrong. Though many parents do their utmost to ensure that their kids are safe, manufacturers have taken the dressing of children to an unacceptable level, in producing clothing that makes little children into little adults.
Young skin is beautiful, though not in the same way as the sexual nature associated with adults, and by sending out the wrong messages and dressing kids in "Hoochie" wear, what are parents thinking of? If you look, there are so many fashionable alternatives out there which don't reveal the potential child sexuality that parents must be mad to buy Hoochie wear.
So what is "Hoochie" wear?
Hoochie wear is a style of clothing that is sexual or that plays to sexual innuendo. It may be skimpy T-shirts with writing that is provocative, or clothing that encourages the baring of cleavage or tummy area, skimpy short skirts, and exceedingly short shorts.
Who is it aimed at?
Initially Hoochie wear was aimed at the teen to late twenties age range, although many people jumped on the bandwagon and now supply the same kinds of clothing for children. Although the premise that young kiddies love dressing up to look adult is part of the appeal, knowing the limits of decency and keeping kids safe really should be the wider issue.
Advice to parents tempted into buying Hoochie wear
The styles that are available for kids that are not considered Hoochie wear are amazingly diverse and modern. The Nordic range gives the choice of modern bright colors that will make a child feel trendy without resorting to revealing styles. These are both stylish and modern and if a modern look is what a child is looking for, there are thousands of suppliers and makers that are responsible enough to realize that kids should be allowed to stay kids. Ladybird are a company with a wonderful reputation for clothing.
What if kiddies feel peer pressure?
If a child pressures you to be able to wear Hoochie clothes, turn it into a game. Let them recognize the difference between crass stupidity and reality. Dressing up time should be for play, and here is a time to let them dress up as Britney or other celebrities within the safe confines of their own home. Define the differences and try to instill moral values from a young age.
Hoochie clothing seems to amuse some parents, though look at the reality. The children being made to look like their trendy dolls or stars begin to see that manner of dress as normal. It isn't their fault. It is the responsibility of the parent to dress a child appropriately. Who is to blame when child abuse happens and more importantly, which type of parent would a child feel comfortable talking to when it does happen? A parent who is flippant about the sexuality of their children sends the wrong message both to the public and to the child, and a child is more likely to be open with a parent that knows how to show their love without the need to dress their child inappropriately.
Get the message right and you are protecting the child from harm. Get it wrong, and the mixed message you send both the child and those who see that child can be disastrous. Let little girls be little girls, not little temptations.
