The beach bears its hot sand
constantly cooled by the ocean
its grains hold the bodies tanned
with the ocean's soothing motion.
It sweeps in a torrent of water
and deposits it heavy debris
its tide commanded by sun's daughter
despite the burning sands' plea.
It washes away the lighter shells
of creatures long since gone
and says to the beach its farewells
as the ocean has too quickly withdrawn.
The ocean has a dark side too,
but it's heart knows not this site
it carries sharks and rip tides on cue
but normally 'tis no fright.
