Trade shows: Early-bird bookings save money

Booking early for a trade show whether you're an exhibitor or an attendee will give you financial savings.

Trade shows are often yearly events and bookings can be made many months in advance. Early bird bookings offer exhibitor booth fees at greatly reduced prices than those sold closer to the show dates. It's also a chance to choose a good booth location, which can make or break you at a trade show.

For attendees of trade shows there are early bird specials on ticket and seminar prices. Again at a lot lower cost than buying a ticket at the door. Often early bird specials offer one free day's attendance to a 3 day seminar depending on how popular it's likely to be.

The other advantage of being an early bird is that it allows time to prepare for the trade show. For exhibitors, a concept can be devised, stock can be ordered and promotional material produced so there is no last minute panic.

Attending a trade show may require extended travel so early bird bookings with airlines and hotels are an advantage that will net more savings. Acquiring travel and accommodation early avoids the discovery that all hotels in the area are full.

Large trade shows are often held at the same time as a festival in a city. There's nothing more frustrating than discovering all the hotels are booked out in the trade show host city.

If a trade show offers early bird specials, exhibitors and attendees would be wise to secure them as at some popular trade shows, there's a quota on the number of early bird tickets available.
