For men trying to impress women with the clothes they are wearing, there is one piece of advice that will help most: Quit it!

Why impress a woman with what you are wearing? Do you want to become merely an object of desire and lust? Don't you want the women in your life to appreciate you for who you are: your goals and ambitions, your accomplishments and abilities?

While the above statement is somewhat fatuous, it is hoped that it gets people thinking. Because of course a man would like to be seen as an object of desire and lust! We see nothing wrong with that.. but many folks do see something wrong with the converse of this.

In any case, here are a few tips that any man can use in order to look his best and turn the eyes of women.

*Dress to your body type. If you are somewhat squat and perhaps a little rotund, you want to keep away from tight-fitting clothes. Wear loose garments in muted colors that don't make you look flashy. Don't wear humdrum, second-hand stuff that is not clean, as this will give you the appearance of lack of self-confidence. If you are tall and lanky, again, don't wear tight-fitting clothes. Wear clothes that fit comfortably and that highlight that fit frame. And for the tall, broad-shouldered and chested man, wear a shirt that hugs those shoulders, slides smoothly down your chest, and is tailored to show off the proportions of chest to waist.

*Dress to your taste. An uncomfortable person can be spotted from at least twenty yards away. You need to be comfortable in the clothes and the colors you are wearing, so don't get gaudy beyond your tastes. Don't wear expensive clothes if they make you feel like a wastrel. Wear the clothes that you enjoy wearing and that you feel confident make you look good.

*Dress to the occasion. Nothing glares more than a person who is under or overdressed, depending on the occasion. If you are going on a casual date, dress about a half-level above straight casual. Wear a nicely colored shirt that drapes cleanly and accents your own color. If you know that a formal event is your destination, dress to the nines in your favorite suit. Be it a pin-stripe or a solid charcoal, if you feel good in it, you will likely look good in it.

*Finally, remember you are a man. Women like men who take care of themselves and take the time to look good. They feel cared for if their man spends the time and energy to look good with them. But don't spend hours on your looks. You will appear vain and shallow. Don't spend thousands of dollars on product and clothes. You will appear vain and shallow!

In the end, use your clothes to show the you that you want women to see. An interesting, multi-layered, confident you.
