The strangest fear I've ever heard of (which is actually my fear don't tell anyone!) is the fear of crumbs. What would it be called, Crumbphobia? But that's what I have.

Being slightly Obsessive Compulsive, I absolutely HATE crumbs. Just the sound of crumbs rolling across a plastic plate makes my skin crawl. I hate crumbs in my bed, I hate crumbs on the counter, I even hate crumbs on my food. If someone threw crumbs on me (don't get any ideas) I'd most likely running screaming in circles and batting my arms.

I know. It sounds absolutely ridiculous and you probably think I'm crazy, but I just can't stand crumbs! Just thinking about them right now makes my teeth grind. Ugh! Thousands of little tiny pieces of food everywhere . . . I'm trying not to shiver as I write this.

Don't ask why I'm afraid of crumbs. I don't truly understand it myself. Growing up, I was never afraid of anything: not of sitting on Santa's lap or of snakes or rats or insects. They were my friends. I'd let a spider sit on my hand before I let a crumb.

It's stupid; it's insane that something sotiny and harmless as crumb could make me fidget and shiver. But I've never been able to stand even the sight of a few crumbs sitting on the counter. What if someone set their glass on the counter and the crumbs stuck to it and then the crumbs were transferred to another surface . . . the very idea makes me tingle and itch all over!

Yes, it's true. I'm afraid of crumbs; afraid their tiny legions will become tangled in my hair or trickle down my clothing or stick to my skin.
