Firstly I would like to mention that I think the price of houses nowadays is ridiculous. Thankfully I have made my first buy and I am now on the property ladder, although I pity anyone that is just starting out, with no deposit. When I bought my house in 2002, I bought it through co-ownership, buy half, rent half. Simply because I could not afford to buy the house myself. Since then the payments had been easier for me. The downside was, when I was ready to buy co-ownership out and fully own my house, they were entitled to half of what my house was presently worth and not half of the the original purchase price. Therefore I had to pay twice the amount to them just to get rid of them after a few years. I would now recommend that anyone who can buy a home, should buy a home. Only rent if there is no other choice for you, as when you rent, you are throwing away your hard earned money.
