In northern California, deep into the Humboldt Redwoods, there is a Campground for people with horses, called "Cuneo Creek Camp". Nestled about 8 long miles from highway 101.
At the end of our 3 months stay, we were able to make the 8 miles, of one lane with hair pen turns, 2 way traffic, blind corners, a mountain of redwoods on one side and cliffs on the other side, in about 45 minutes.
The speed limit posted was 35 miles per hour and many people that used this road often, drove way faster than the posted sign, but we hardly made it up to 20 miles per hour.
Deep into this California State Park, is an old orchard with 5 family sites and 2 group sites for campers with their horses. Of the 3 months we were there, we might had 2 nights that we were alone, from people. But the animals were among us day and night. This is one of the stories that I wrote from the true adventures up at this campground and the bear we named after the campground "Cuneo The Breakfast Bear".
After being chased away from all the favorite things Cuneo loves to eat and do, Cuneo decided to take a nap.
Waking up very hungry and it was very dark. Cuneo decided to allow his nose to lead him to an early morning breakfast.
Walking down the middle of the road with only the moon as his light, he could let his nose lead him.
After a little time, Cuneo wander up to one of those small, soft caves. He had learned about the soft caves, from earlier adventures.
His nose smelled something right out front of it. A large shell. He pulled it over to the nearby bushes.
Using his teeth, it opened right up, and what a meal!
It only took Cuneo about 5 minutes to down everything, and boy did it feel and taste so good!
Cuneo wanders over to a much bigger one. This one was not by one of those soft caves. So he decided to open it right there.
Not being as hungry as he was with the first one, Cuneo decided to pick through the shell.
He started throwing things out, that he really did not like. Between each throw, he would find many things that tasted like heaven. He ate and ate!
Finally, after everything was gone, of the things he liked, Cuneo wanders back to finish his sleep. Fat and Happy!
CAMP HOST VERSION:
Each group site for the campground, would hold over a hundred people. Events, family reunions and parties were booked every weekend and some weekdays.
On one Sunday morning, when both group areas were booked, we heard a lot of commotion coming from the bigger group area.
I walked up to see if there was a problem. One guy came
