Are you kidding me? YES! Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. The man is the all time hit leader for the entire sport of baseball. While I in no way agree with what he did two facts remain.

First, Pete Rose never once bet against the team he was managing so he never threw any games. In fact he did anything he could to win which is exactly what managers are supposed to do.

Second and most importantly nothing that Pete Rose did had any effect on his stats for his career. betting on games didn't turn any doubles into home runs for Pete like steroids are now doing for a number of players around the league.

Will Barry Bonds make the hall of fame? Yes, i believe he will because even before the steroid era Bonds put up numbers worthy of the hall of fame. However what Barry Bonds did had an impact on his numbers, and Pete Rose never gained anything in the stats category as a result of his actions.

The people we should be talking about banning from the hall of fame forever are Jose Canseco, Big Mac, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmerio, and anyone else connected to performance enhancing drugs. Think about it this way if you had a son who played baseball at any level what would upset you more, finding out he bet $5 that his team would win a game? Or walking in on him juicing up before a game?
