"Absent from the body, present with the Lord". This is true for all, even those who do not believe in the Lord. All will believe at that point.
For Christians, you will receive your new body. It is a body designed to exist in eternity and for eternity. There will be no time. You will exist solely in the present. For the Christian, you will exist in the presence of God, in a real place called Paradise. It is the Eden that we read about in Genesis. It is the place we were designed to live in originally. There will be no pain, no death, and no ego. Paradise is beyond our ability to comprehend. In fact, if we could comprehend it, people would be jumping off bridges and stepping in front of trains to get there. It is a place were the Creator lives with His created. It is place He created especially for that purpose.
For Non Christians, you too will exist eternally, but it is not called eternal life...it is called eternal death. I understand that it is not popular today to speak of hell, but Jesus spoke more about hell than he did Heaven. I am thinking that means it is important to remember. I am sure we all have our own image of what hell is like, I will leave you with yours, suffice to say that it is not a pleasant place. Hell was designed to contain Satan and those fallen angels who chose to follow him. After the fall of man, hell was given the added responsibility of containing humans who choose to follow Satan. All who reject God, all who do not accept His son Jesus Christ, and the free gift of eternal life that he offers, are followers of Satan. That is hard to hear. What is even harder to hear is that the majority of people will not accept the free gift. I would like that to be different, God would like that to be different, but I can no more force someone to accept a free gift than God can.
This is a narrow view point. That is exactly what Jesus said also: "Wide is the road that leads to destruction and narrow the road that leads to life, and few find it". I find that sad and disturbing...imagine what the One who created you feels.
