Ah, American Idol. I have such a love-hate relationship with this show. It has given so many talented artists a chance to make a name for themselves, make their mark on the music industry. It has given them chances to have the career they could only dream about for most of their lives. Many great singers have come from American Idol's success.
On the flip side of that, American Idol has produced a few less than talented stars as well. How does this happen? People like the underdog and when someone is told they'll be nothing, someone decides that they should have a chance.
Does this mean that people won't get discovered other ways? Not at all. As long as people want to work hard for their music careers, they will be discovered. American Idol just gives them a leg up on the work.
