How Christians can face temptation

Facial recognition is an ongoing debate in terms of admissible evidence in court. Baddley's model of working memory postulates that a phonological slave and a visuospatial slave compete for time within the working memory. They both access the subconscious which, according to Freud, consists of base elements of sex and violence as justification for morality. The visuospatial slave can be further subdivided into the ability to detect the shape, texture and colour of objects and the ability to detect location and movement. The part of the brain that is thought to house facial recognition is the fusiform gyrus. Its functions are apparently: processing of colour information, face and body recognition, word recognition, number recognition. The visuospatial slave is also called a sketchpad which is used for "virtual environment for physical simulation, calculation, visualization and optical memory recall" according to Wikipedia.org.

Temptation for a Christian, as shown by comparing Hebrews 2:9 with 2:18 can be as bad as death. It is also, apparently, something you can taste. This raises questions around synasthesia. Lucy R, one of Freud's patients, developed a hysteria symptom where she smelled burnt pudding before her episodes. This began when the children in her care cooked a pudding excitedly which Ms R burnt after receiving a letter from her mother.

The word for "taste" in Hebrews 2:9 is "geuomai" which also means to try. Therefore, "exelko hupo idios epithumia kai deleazo" in James 1:14 is analogous "geuomai" in Hebrews 2:9. The translation is roughly: to draw out or lure forth (as the Titans did on behalf of Hera with baby Dionysus) under that which pertains to one's self a desire for what is forbidden (I will discuss this further) and caught by a bait or deceived. (This is word by word from www.blueletterbible.org.) The idea is of personal involvement in this chain of events. The point about what is forbidden, if you drill down further into the meaning of epithumia, is that the sudden upsurges of rage that subside quickly are turned about (epi-). There is no need, though, to deny ourselves meaningful roles in resolving justice issues. There does not seem to indication that God is trying to do our work for us. We just need to understand how to avoid superstition ("over standing" as in standing over from the past or standover tactics). The apostle Paul said to leave the past behind and stretch forward. This doesn't mean to forget things. It means not
