Why celebrity adoptions are getting so much media attention

The media has made it appear that celebrities are adopting babies as quickly as they're getting the latest Prada. It's no surprise considering the media exploits celebrities to the point that we know what underwear they wore on Friday. Truth be it told, we know way too much about these people, and it's not always a good thing. Take the case of celebrity adoption. The media has portrayed celebrity adoptions as "being the latest trend", and each time a new celebrity adopts a child, they are jumping on the bandwagon. This is a pretty way to portray adoption, especially considering how many orphaned and impoverished children live in this world.

Adoption is a concept that is selfless in nature. For me, it's great to see these chronically selfish people make the leap and do something wonderful for a child. Yes many celebrities donate to charity, but there is nothing more honorable than saving a child's life, and if they are financially able, why shouldn't they? Still, it's hard to resist knowing every little thing about a celebrity, and in a way, exploiting celebrity adoptions has brought exposure to many countries where children are in need. In that sense, the media is actually doing something wonderful, whatever their intentions may be.
