The first question we need to address is what type of zombie are we dealing with?
Are they G.Romaro's "Space radiation" zombies,or are they "blood virus"zombies ala "28 days later",or the new"Dawn of the dead"?
Each presents its own set of challenges. Romero's zombies are by far the easiest to deal with. Not just because they are slow moving,"Their dead...Their all messed up." but also they are not contagious. although fire arms are good for keeping them at a distance, bladed weapons, and blunt instruments are perfectly acceptable. Getting their blood on you is not a concern, however life threatening injuries in your party need to be monitored closely. If they die you've got seconds before they become"zombiefied".
The "blood virus" zombies, besides being fast moving,in some cases all it takes is a drop of blood, and your screwed.Fire arms, and explosives are indispensable in this case. Although a full-face gas mask is ideal for protecting your orifices,a pair of goggles, and a handkerchief is better then nothing.
In either case procuring food, weapons, and secure shelter is a must, however if you do not have the wherewithal to figure this out on your own,I feel it's a waste of time to draw you a picture. Not to be cold, but dumb,greedy,and/or hysterical people will only slow you down, and ultimately get you killed, and eaten.
If on the other hand you are smart, fast, and a good enough shot to make it to the "spot",I'll see you there.
