person and try to stick yours out. You never know that coworker you despise who has that great job just might quit or transfer and move you right into their position where you would like to be.
* Quitting a job because of pay can be explained as long as your next job pays better than your previous but this may not always be the case. It is a bad idea to quit a job based solely on the amount of pay you receive. Many places of employment give regular raises to keep employees happy. If your company does not offer raises and you have been there long enough offer up the suggestion in a company meeting that it could be a great incentive to workers. They could just consider doing it and everyone come out a winner.
* I have saw young people quit work because they want to spend the summer running wild with friends. Do not quit your job to live carefree for a few months. This not only damages your reputation as a good worker but it also shows that you are unprepared to handle responsibility. Chances are the next job you get will be no better than the previous job you quit for a fun filled summer.
Quitting a job is a big decision. It is not one to be taken lightly. The manner in which you leave a job can follow you for many years in the employment field. There are very few good reasons to quit a job such as medical conditions, relocation, etc. If you are not in a serious situation plan to find another job before you quit the one you have. It is wise to make sure your new employer does not contact your old before you tell them you are leaving. It is also a good idea to allow two-week notice before you begin your new job. Responsibility is a big plus in the workforce. Proper timing and consideration can mean a good or bad reference. That being said chances of you being any happier with the new job is pretty slim if you stay over a long period of time. Jobs are not meant to be fun and entertaining. Jobs are meant to be a way to make a living while offering a service you can perform.
