The health dangers of reusing plastic bottles and bags

North Americans are exposed to daily. This finding implicates Bisphenol A to the high instances of prostate disease and cancer in men. Government funded studies found that of 104 scientific studies, 94 found disturbing effects caused by Bisphenol A. Multi-nationals, corporations and industry performed only 11 studies with Bisphenol A, and reported no effects.

Industry uses this toxic chemical for coating the inside of tin cans for food products, refrigerator shelves, baby bottles, water bottles, reusable containers, milk bags, water jugs, even dentists use this as a plastic coating, a method of cavity protection! When we use plastic film wrap, tape, think of anything that is made of plastic. Incredibly, Bisphenol A, is also an ingredient in birth control pills!

We can deny the science as the Manufacturing Companies will do; it's in their best interest and those of the share-holders. We are witnessing now, a change in human physiology, girls are developing breast at a younger and younger age. Breast cancer is increasing although, screening methods have improved. Prostate cancer is prevalent in are society. More children our over-weight and menstruating earlier, and diabetes in on the rise. The food we eat is blamed , in-activity is blamed, but no one factors in our ingestion of this chemical everyday!

Plastic is very inexpensive and cost effective for corporations. Containers made from glass are quickly being replaced, so are metal containers and cardboard.
There is a method of making plastic-like substances, that will break down in the landfill and not contaminate the ground water. The corporations just need the consumers to demand a change, that usually incorporates with-holding our money and not buying their products.

The corporations will not be truthful and reveal the science, and the average consumer does not want to believe, that this could actually be true. The health of the people and the environment is not as important as the bottom line.

Plastic in land fills are leaching toxic resins into the environment. Bisphenol A has been found in rivers and estuaries, in concentrations ranging from 5 to 1900 nanograms per litre. It is found in river and stream sediments in quite significant amounts. Even under the most natural environmental conditions, Bisphenol A is very persistent and will not readily degrade. These findings are very significant as they tell us it is imperative, that society stop using this toxic chemical, in the manufacturing of plastic bags and plastic products. It is for the sake of our environment and our children.
