A day in the life of a web developer can involve any of a multitude of events. A web developer is involved with designing, implementing and maintaining Internet sites. They are vital in terms of connecting customers to businesses and the like through the web.

A web developer must work on several assigned web projects, almost always simultaneously, and get them completed on time. This can be a very high pressure job. The salaries for this job range from thirty thousand to one hundred thousand a year.

The knowledge they require is vast. HTML is not enough anymore; they have to know about Perl, Java, ASP and XML. Therefore the first duty of a web developer is to stay on top of new technologies and master the relevant ones as thoroughly as possible.

They use their considerable skill set to create a wide variety of Internet functions. They can create something simple like an online shopping cart for customers to put their items so they can continue shopping for more items before checkout. On the more sophisticated end they could create a catalog of thousands of items with multiple links and interlocking functions throughout.

A day in the life of a web developer is a very fluid thing. Technology is changing at such a rapid rate that even the most diligent developers sometimes struggle to keep up. The range of jobs they are asked to do is truly impressive. Web developers are the catalysts for businesses of the twenty first century.
