Wow! What a inspiring subject to write about! As I write this I am listening to a CD of my mother (who lived on this earth until she was 80)talking about her life starting from when her family came to this country from Italy. She came from a family of 13 kids. She talks about how poor her family was and how they ate spaghetti everyday because they were so poor. She proudly talks about her mother and how she made sure that 94 dollars a month feed the entire family. She talks about how her mother shared her pots and pans and anything a neighbor needed, even though they were poor themselves. Her mother was unselfish so know I know where my mother got this unique trait from. My mother goes on to say that she never received a Christmas present until she was 14 and finally she got a gift, her first pair of rollerskates! She tells a story about her brother who died when he was 11 and how she had to quit school in the 11th grade to help take care of her family because her mother was so devastated due to the loss of her son. My grandmother spent 4 months in bed crying over the loss of her son. My mother was the 3rd from the youngest and at that age stepped up to the plate to help take care of her family. That was the beginning of my mothers life as a "solider" My mother was truly an angel to me, but I've always admired her strength and will. Her and my father wanted to be sure that their kids had a better life.

My mother helped me raise my daughter and at the time of my daughter's birth she was 66 and was still working full-time assembling radar systems and taking care of my daughter while I worked full-time. Then 13 years later I had my son. My mother swore up and down that she wasn't going to take care of another grandchild (daycare) but as soon as my son was born, that was all she wrote. She couldn't get enough of him. She loved him so much and took care of him too and was 77! She was in great health for her age. She had weened herself off of almost all her medications that she was taking except for one. I don't know how to spell it but it was Cumadan. It is a blood thinner. She took it for heart palpitations. Anyway, she dedicated her entire life to her family. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anyone I knew. Everyone should be so blessed as I was to have a mother like her. 4 years ago my mother was driving my nephew and cousin (both 10 at the time) to see my cousins teacher. That particular day my mother called me to ask if I was going to bring
