I believe that celebrities do deserve some level of privacy. Obviously in order to support a fan base and become a commodity in the industry there is a necessity for facing the media in an attempt to promote your image, movie or TV show to boost sales and rate a higher salary. This should be done in controlled settings through interviews, award shows, etc. This does not, however, excuse the paparazzi or crazed fans from stalking the celebrity in question from sunrise to sunset camped out on their front lawn or dangling from the neighbor's tree in an attempt to grab some embarrassing photo that only proves that celebrities are human after all. Somewhere a line has to be drawn. Hasn't anything been learned over the years from all the celebrity attacks and deaths resulting from such harassment?
