Where to find things to sell on eBay

If you're looking for things to sell on eBay, either casually (to clean out your house) or to start your own eBay store, consider these places first when searching for things to sell. There is always someone looking for something specific!

1. Your Attic
Things you may have stored years ago may now be valuable, or just valuable to someone else. If you don't need it, someone else may.

2. Your Garage
Consider spare automotive parts that you no longer need or want taking up space.

3. Garage Sales
Everyday, people clean out their houses, and you can benefit. Often these types of sales are the cheapest, and you never know what you are going to stumble upon.

4. Flea Markets/Rummage Sales
Similar to garage sales, there will usually be more things to browse, as well as specialized sellers. If you know something to be a good seller on eBay, check these venues first for the best price.

5. Outlet Stores
It is now common practice for people to buy things at an outlet store, and sell it for more money on eBay. Very very simple.

6. Church Fairs
Arts and crafts can always be found at church fairs, and there will always be the people who love 'kitsch': unique and quirky little objects that are handmade, or just everyday Americana (i.e. ashtrays in the shape of a state).

7. Library Sales
Quite often libraries will hold book fairs to raise money or clean out some old inventory. These are some of the best places to find cheap books that will be easy to sell.

8. Salvation Army/Goodwill Stores
Many unique things can be found in these types of stores (and it benefits others!).

9. Secondhand Stores/Consignment Shops
Many don't realize the possibility of selling clothing on eBay. One man's junk is another man's treasure.

If you know some of the objects you can get your hands on to sell, research their value first on eBay. It does no good to buy a shirt for $5.00 and turn around and sell it for a dollar or so more. Try and get a feel for what seems to be selling, and what people are looking for. And remember, just keep an eye out as you go about your daily business, and you'll realize that there are treasures just staring you in the face!
