Best Fighter ever is Tekken Tag tournament.
If you have your doubts then you should have been aware of the world wide phenomenon of Tekken Tag tournaments going on in reality. For years any arcade I went to would have fast twitch gurus duking it out in sit-down booths while a crowd of onlookers cheered them on. What made the game so addictive was the fact that almost every person preffered a unique combination of two characters and every character was so deep that it was truly a matter of skill rather than chance that determined who would win.
Best First Person Shooter ever is Halo.
Other FPS have better stories but none revolutionized the genre like Halo. Halo was superb because of its lack of flaws. And once again it spawned a massive community of avid players where the determining factor truly was skill. Beautiful to behold, flawless to play, Halo was and still is endlessly replayable.
Best Online First Person Shooter is Counter Strike.
No other FPS created such an epic online presence redone until this day. Counter Strike will never go away and it shouldn't because it captures the pure essence of online FPS. Not many thrills or frills. Just pure fun.

Best sandbox RPG ever is Oblivion
Only the sequel to Morrowind could ever be better. With the sizzling graphics, numerous game of the year awards, endless variety (can you say online mods?), and almost total immersion, this game is a relationship ender between you and your girlfriend if you aren't careful! Simply put, Oblivion is the best there is right now in open ended RPG play.
Best sandbox game ever is GTA: San Andreas
Grand Theft Auto created the sandbox genre. The idea that you can roam about and pretty much do what you want forever in a virtual reality to let off steam is brilliant. San Andreas upped the ante once again with larger, better cities, the ability to swim, and a more customizable character. But San Andreas did not stop there. What makes this game easily one of the top five games EVER is the variety and storyline. Sure you can roam around chopping people up or driving fast cars. But actually playing through the storyline
